I am a gynaecologist and a sexologist with a truly Scandinavian background: Born in Sweden, where I lived until I was 18. My education took place in Denmark, where I have also spent most of my working life, except for four years in Norway.
Nowadays, I work part time in Norway as a consultant, I teach sexology at the Medical School in Aarhus, Denmark, and I give talks about sexology and gynaecological subjects.
I am married, and the picture in the header is actually my husband and me kissing on our wedding day…
Sex is an area where the clash between culture and biology has an impact on all of us. From this, we all construct our own personal opinions and practices.
I believe that sex should be a source of pleasure, fun, wellness and intimacy. You are never too old to enjoy it. I also believe that everybody should be allowed to have sex in the way that feels right for him or her, as long as they don’t hurt themselves or anybody else.
I am a feminist, and I believe that women as well as men have the right to decide when, how and with whom they want to have sex. When I teach, talk and write, my purpose is always to broaden people’s view on sex, to make them accept the lusts of themselves and others, without shame, guilt or condemnation.
